Time Travel Art Machine: The Women's Evolution!

One of the most action-packed paintings I've ever made.

Back in 2018 I made this super-complex painting featuring all of the women who were on the Raw and SmackDown rosters at the time. It was the most ambitious painting I’d done up to that point, having so many distinct figures in a very action-packed setting. Instead of having them all standing around looking tough I wanted to show them doing what they do best: Fighting.

I think one or two people may have left the company shortly after I finished making it so we weren’t really able to sell them, but the ladies themselves all got prints if they wanted one. This was right around the time of the WWE Evolution event, which everyone was super proud of and this helped them to hold onto those feelings.

And here’s a hard admission to make: Because there’s so many ladies on this painting, I was all the way done before I realized Alexa Bliss(!?!?) wasn’t on it! How does that even happen? So I still managed to fix it and add her in. How embarrassing! I really thought I had double and triple-checked the layout but somehow I had missed her.

This was a very difficult piece to make due to its intricacy but I’m very proud of what I accomplished with it. It’s complexity for sure played a part in leading me towards more and more involved pieces like the Wrestling Landscape series I’m doing now.
