In a galaxy far, far away (or in the American south) WWE was reimagined as a 90’s rebel promotion called Southpaw Regional Wrestling. It’s a ridiculous amount of fun, if you’ve never seen it or want to revisit, here’s the playlist.
I made this painting to celebrate it all, after the producer behind it asked me to make it and he then gifted it out to everyone involved. You’ve probably seen the prints show up here and there, most notably as a part of the original set for The Bump. It’s also somehow the first piece of official merchandise my old pal Adam Pearce had with WWE.
Maybe because I had so much fun making this, but I think it’s also one of my best group shot compositions I’ve ever painted.
Love you more,
Rob
