My first ever Danhausen painting is a tribute to classic monster movie art, specifically the work of Basil Gogos. I thought it was a perfect fit. It’s an acrylic painting, using a variety of layers of paint to get such a rich combination of colors and values.

To make these prints even more exciting, Danhausen himself signed them! Very signed, very evil! Get yours or be cursed.

Look at that cute little baby.

YOU GOOD?  

Yesterday I picked my first pepper of the season. I’ve got a couple dozen at various stages of ripening right now but this little one was ready to go early. The combination of a wetter-than-normal summer, a few years of composting and slightly milder temperatures are all teaming up to give me what looks to be a good crop so far. When I first started gardening I had a heck of a time with bell peppers but I’ve slowly been getting better and better results.

Obviously I still have to get through August but I’m hopeful to have some good stuff for our fajita veggies and breakfast scrambles starting in a couple weeks.
