Hi. My name's Rob Schamberger. I'm that guy who paints rasslers. And other stuff. I can’t hardly wait.
WHAT’S NEW?
A very WWE-heavy week for me. Katy and I went up to Minneapolis last weekend to visit friends and so that I could work Raw on Monday. It was a really great day, one because I love the Target Center’s backstage setup and then to catch up with friends at WWE. Seriously, the backstage area we have is maybe my favorite of any venue I’ve been to.
If you’ve been following along for the past few months, then you know that I’ve been in the midst of upgrading my deal with WWE and for the past couple months that’s limited the availability of my stuff for purchase. There’s been a lot of starts and stops and I know I’ve said this several times over the course of this process but it looks like we’re nearly on the other side of things.
On Wednesday I had a great video meeting with WWE and together we spent the rest of the week actively working on this project to get my art back where it belongs: On your walls.
Hopefully in the next few days. Hopefully. Working at this scale, up here in the big leagues in a way I never have before, there’s a lot more moving parts involved but I -think- we’ve got it this time. If so, you’ll get an email once they’re live.
Thanks again for your patience with me and for your years of support for my work.

As this WWE process works out, there’s going to be a slight delay before you get to see my next painting. Hopefully just a week or two and then we’re back on our regular release schedule. It’ll be worth it.

Too bad Tikka’s not photogenic, right?
YOU GOOD?
Last weekend we stayed with our friends Kate and Ryan up in Minneapolis. Kate put together my first-ever wrestling art show over a decade ago and we instantly became real, actual friends. It’s too bad they live so far away (or we live so far away from them, I guess) because I just love being around them whenever we get together. Kate’s always trying to get us to move up there and if we were to ever leave Kansas City it’d definitely be for the Twin Cities area.
I was even more lucky that my friend Kari Williams was in KC this weekend and I got to have a delicious breakfast with her yesterday. A Mexican restaurant here in town does breakfast on the weekends and it’s a life-changer. Kari has done a lot of wrestling interviews over the years and that was how we became friends around a decade ago.
I miss going to indy wrestling shows with her. There was one show where a spot didn’t go to plan and either the crowd went quiet or I said a little too loudly, “Well, that was the $#!+s,” and everyone turned to look at me. We still laugh about that.
That spot WAS the drizzling $#!+s, by the way. I stand by my words.
Wrestling’s brought so much into my life but it’s the friends that mean the most to me. It was a lucky week to hang out with so many of them.
Love you more,
Rob
