Hi. My name's Rob Schamberger. I'm that guy who paints rasslers. And other stuff. I see your true colors and that’s why I love you.

THE LGTBQ ATHLETES SERIES

That rounds out my series of ten paintings celebrating notable LGTBQ athletes. I personally learned a lot about each of them while making these and hearing from the people that found meaning and representation in seeing them.

Here’s the rest of the series for you to check out. I’m planning to have a showing of them here in Kansas City and will let you know more about that as it comes together!

Behind the Scenes!

YOU GOOD?

Thursday morning I went over to my good friend, former studio-mate and genius photographer Paul Andrews’ studio to do a shoot with our model Zelda Calderon for my next Emotion Series painting. Both of them are brilliant at what they do and it was an absolute pleasure and creatively invigorating working with them. I’m looking forward to starting on the painting this week.

Paul and I had lunch after the shoot and he joked that he still didn’t really know how to use spreadsheets and I laughed, saying, “I sure do…” And that was the majority of how I spent this past week, emailing with my various contacts, putting together spreadsheets, formatting files, phone calls and Zoom meetings. All that stuff they don’t teach us in art class. I only got a few hours in actually painting.

WWE, Fanatics and I are all doing our best to get a few hundred more prints up on WWE Shop by Black Friday. It’s maybe their busiest time of the year right now preparing for the holiday season and then here I am dropping in hundreds of new products! But I’m hopeful we’ll have it all up in time with regular releases of signed prints again. There’s been A LOT of hurdles to clear with this project with new ones presenting themselves seemingly every day, but hopefully this learning curve is flattening out. Who knows? Not me!

I did hear from Fanatics that my company Schamberger Labs is one of their top-ranked dropship vendors now. ‘Dropshipping’ is the industry term for when you place an order from a site like WWE Shop and then it’s fulfilled by a third party, in this case me and my crew. My assistant David and I take a lot of pride in what we’re doing and it’s cool to see that hard work is paying off.

Love you more,
Rob
