ROXANNE PEREZ: Rob Schamberger Newsletter 03JUL22
Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today to get through this thing called life.
Don't share this image until after 12PM CST. This is a perk for newsletter readers only. Be cool. Don't ruin it for everyone else.
Hi. My name's Rob Schamberger. I'm that guy who paints rasslers. And other stuff. It means forever and that's a mighty long time.
WORDS
As soon as Roxanne Perez debuted with NXT, I knew I was making a painting of her. Probably my favorite thing about NXT 2.0 is all of the new people I get to paint, honestly.
Back when the Four Horsewomen were first establishing themselves in NXT and then on Raw and SmackDown, people would say to me things like, “Wow, this is it, this is the best!” and while I agreed, I also said that I was personally excited about the girls watching right now, who would say, “I want to do that!” and in five, ten, fifteen years what that would mean for WWE and pro wrestling as a whole.
I feel like Roxanne Perez perfectly encompasses that idea. She grew up on the Four Horsewomen and the Women’s Evolution and said, “I want to do that!” and now she’s here, doing it. That’s REALLY exciting.
ICYMI, here's last week's Canvas 2 Canvas episode. Tomorrow's will go up on WWE's YouTube channel at 11AM CST!

SCHAMBERGER LABS: THE SERIES!
While working on my stupendous Charlotte Flair painting, Katy and I regale you with stories of my birthday in Las Vegas, working backstage for WWE, and a major landmark in my career!
YOU GOOD?
On Friday I turned 42, which means I’ve been a professional artist for a quarter century now. I don’t know what that means for me, if anything, but it’s something. I’ve been serious about art for 35 years, since I got my first comic book at seven and knew what I wanted to do with my life.
I really wasted a lot of time in those first seven years.
Katy and I got into Las Vegas on Friday for yesterday’s WWE Money in the Bank event. After getting checked in at the hotel we stopped by the WWE MITB store to say hello to all of our friends working there, then had a bit of a bar crawl across MGM Grand and New York New York before going to dinner at an awesome off-Strip Italian restaurant called Chicago Joe’s. From there we took a ride on the High Rollers ferris wheel which was honestly incredible. That’s what the picture above is from.
Katy, thanks for a great birthday night. I love you, respect you and am so fortunate to have you in my life.
Love you more,
Rob
