Hi. My name's Rob Schamberger. I'm that guy who paints rasslers. And other stuff. Thinking everything was alright.
WORDS
I’ve painted Pac a few times over the years, from back when we worked together before. He has really distinctive features that make my job pretty easy. So naturally, I threw that aside to do something more challenging! I intentionally made his facial features largely undefined using a wet-in-wet technique with watercolor. I then did some bold and defined lines for the hair in front of his face, giving it a sense of depth and also an ethereal menace. Definitely some ideas I’ll revisit in future paintings.

FOOD, DUDE!
I took another pass Tuesday night at this ‘Mexican lagana’ casserole, this time modifying with some plant-based ‘chicken nuggets’ and sweet corn. It’s pretty good but I feel like I could have gone heavier on the seasoning.
Maybe it was the fake chicken, maybe it was the fancy chipotle garlic cheddar and forage mushroom and scallion jack cheeses I shredded throwing off the flavor profile, or maybe I just didn’t go heavy enough on the seasoning, but it didn’t have as much kick as before. I’ll probably use some finishing salt for the leftovers.
Captivating content up in here, amirite.
Anyway, that’s a big part of why I’m liking this whole cooking thing: Constantly looking at how to do it better the next time around. It’s a never-ending thing.
Love you more,
Rob
