One of the coolest things about doing these paintings for AEW is all of the fresh faces I get to paint for the first time, including this brand new portrait of Kris Statlander. My approach on this one is something I haven’t done in a little while, limiting my colors and letting the watercolor be more organic before tightening it up in the final layers. I think it creates a really cool feel to the whole piece.

While Kima and Tikka may be taking it easy, I’m back in the full swing of things painting-wise. I’ve got three AEW pieces in the works, doing some conceptual-stage work for the next Emotion Series painting, keeping openings for new commissions, and eyeing some other personal works to do in between all of these.
